Coalescing Filter Elements

The coalescing type element is used to remove liquids from gases. The coalescing element has a two layer structure, a fine inner aerosol/particle capture layer and a coarse outer drainage layer. Liquid droplets remain mobile once captured and travel through the fine pores of the capture layer, along the intersecting microfibres, growing in size as they progress. These coalesced droplets are transferred to the larger pores of the drainage layer, from where they drain from the outside of the filter element by gravity and collect in the bowl of the filter housing.
